Broiler/Fryer:  Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance

Whole broiler/fryer prices are trending steady in the East, steady to weak 
in the West and Midwest. Offerings are light to heavy for current trade needs. 
Retail demand is light to fair, instances fairly good. Food service demand is 
light to fair. Floor stocks are adequate to sometimes heavier than desired.
Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts structure, movement is light 
to moderate. Prices are trending steady for wings; steady to weak for breast 
items, tenders and most dark meat items. Offerings of breast items are in a 
slightly better position but still noted as more than sufficient for trade 
needs. Dark meat items are moderate to heavy with thighs and thigh meat slow 
to clear. Wings are moderate. Market activity for parts is slow to moderate. 
In production areas, live supplies are moderate. Weights are mixed, but mostly 
desirable.
